Description

1 Oz Morgan Silver

Few coin designs in American history command the reverence of the Morgan silver dollar. First struck in 1878, the Morgan dollar defined an era — and its bold, classically American imagery has captivated collectors for nearly 150 years. This 1 oz Silver Round is a faithful tribute to that legacy, rendered in .999 fine silver with the crisp detail and timeless dignity the design deserves.

Round Highlights

  • Iconic American Design: Modeled after George T. Morgan's legendary silver dollar, this round brings one of the most beloved designs in U.S. numismatic history into a modern, collectible format.
  • 999 Fine Silver: Each round contains one full troy ounce of .999 fine silver — pure, consistent, and built to endure.
  • Brilliant Uncirculated Condition: Issued in BU condition, each round arrives with a clean, sharply struck surface ready for display or careful storage.
  • Intricate Detail: From Liberty's Phrygian cap to the spread eagle's outstretched wings, every element of the original Morgan design is captured with striking fidelity.
  • A Natural Gift: Whether for a seasoned collector or someone just discovering American numismatics, this round makes a genuinely impressive and meaningful gift.

Design Details

  • Obverse: Features George T. Morgan's iconic Liberty Head — a left-facing profile of Lady Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, with "LIBERTY" inscribed along the crown. The design radiates the confident elegance of the Gilded Age.
  • Reverse: A bold eagle with wings fully spread takes center stage, encircled by a wreath and stars. Inscriptions read "ONE TROY OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER."

History & Design

The Morgan silver dollar was the brainchild of U.S. Mint engraver George T. Morgan, who drew his Liberty from Anna Willess Williams, a Philadelphia schoolteacher whose profile he considered the ideal classical American face. The coin circulated from 1878 through 1904, and again briefly in 1921, spanning one of the most transformative periods in American history — the settlement of the West, the rise of industry, and the close of the frontier era.

The reverse eagle, strong and symmetrical, became a lasting emblem of that confident, expansionist spirit. Together, the two sides of the Morgan dollar tell a story of a young nation coming into its own — and this round keeps that story alive in gleaming fine silver.
